Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons buttery spread
- 2 large Granny Smith apples, washed, cored and chopped
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- In a large skillet or saucepan, melt buttery spread over medium heat, add apples.
- Cook stirring constantly, until apples are almost tender, about 6-7 minutes.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water, add to skillet.
- Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
Serve over whole wheat pancakes or with fruit yogurt. Leaving the peel on the apples will increase fiber.
