Ingredients

  1. 1 cup brown sugar, divided
  2. 1/2 cup buttery spread
  3. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  4. 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  5. 3/4 cup oats
  6. 1/4 cup egg mix combined with 1/2 cup water
  7. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. 3/4 cup raisins
  10. 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  11. 1/2 cup dried cherries

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°
  1. In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup brown sugar, buttery spread, all-purpose flour and oats.
  2. Press in the bottom of an 8 x 8 inch square pan.  Bake crust for 20 minutes.
  3. In the same bowl, mix together egg mixture, 1/2 cup brown sugar, whole wheat flour, baking powder and vanilla extract until well blended.  Stir in the raisins, coconut and cherries.  Spread this over baked crust in the pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes.  Cool and then cut into bars.
Substitute fresh pitted prunes for dried cherries.
