Ingredients
- 2 1/3 cups bakery mix
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup prepared instant non-fat dry milk
- 3 1/2 cups cold, ice water
- 1/2 cup instant non-fat dry milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Preheat oven to 400°
Whipped Topping
Preheat oven to 400°
- Mix all ingredients until well moistened.
- Drop into ungreased muffin tins.
- Bake 15-20 minutes.
Whipped Topping
- Pour water into an ice cold bowl.
- Add milk and beat with a cold egg beater until stiff.
- Slowly add sugar while continuing to beat.
- Add lemon juice and beat until well mixed.
This shortcake is delicious topped with any fruit. "Very pretty."
