Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, small, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, small, chopped
- 1 can tomato sauce, reduced sodium
- 1 can diced tomatoes, reduced sodium, keep liquid
- 1 can didney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup macaroni ( may use uncooked rice)
Directions
- Brown ground beef, bell pepper and onion until lightly browned. Drain and rinse fat off the meat.
- Add tomatoes, kidney beans, water, chili powder, cayenne pepper and macaroni (or rice) to the beef mixture. Stir.
- Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until macaroni (or rice) is tender. Stir to prevent sticking.
Try a green vegetable as a side dish.
