Hamburger Mash-Up

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound ground beef
  2. onion, small, chopped
  3. 1/2 green bell pepper, small, chopped
  4. 1 can tomato sauce, reduced sodium
  5. 1 can diced tomatoes, reduced sodium, keep liquid
  6. 1 can didney beans, drained and rinsed
  7. 1 cup water
  8. 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  9. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
  10. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  11. 1/2 cup macaroni ( may use uncooked rice)

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef, bell pepper and onion until lightly browned.  Drain and rinse fat off the meat.
  2. Add tomatoes, kidney beans, water, chili powder, cayenne pepper and macaroni (or rice) to the beef mixture.  Stir.
  3. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until macaroni (or rice) is tender.  Stir to prevent sticking. 
Try a green vegetable as a side dish.
