Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pound cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- black pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat oil in a large skillet. Add and sauté onion for 1 minute.
- Add cabbage and apple, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Combine pepper, brown sugar, water and vinegar.
- Add the pepper mixture to the cabbage mixture, and cook, covered, over low heat for 20 minutes.
- Stir every 5 minutes until done.
You can serve this hot or cold, whichever you like.
