Rice Pizza Crust

  1. 2 cups water
  2. 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
  3. 2 tablespoons egg mix combined with 1/4 cup water
  4. 1/2 cup part-skim Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  5. 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  6. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, optional


Preheat oven to 400°
  1. Place water and rice in medium saucepan, and bring to a boil.  Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. In a medium size bowl, mix together cooked rice, egg mixture, Mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Press mixture evenly into a lightly greased pizza pan, covering bottom and sides.
  4. Bake for 4 minutes or until set.
  5. Remove crust from oven, and cool slightly before layering with your favorite sauce and toppings.
Use spaghetti sauce for pizza sauce in this recipe.
